The final showdown of 2011. Carnes was only 8 points out of the top spot to win the 2011 season Championship in the Charger division. Trouble found Rich early in the First race of the evening. The 30 lap postponed race form the week prior was not to be. Carnes started out loose, finally started to tame the car but lost his spot as he was going for a three wide inside move and got tangled with the 69 car. The officials seem to have thought it to be an aggressive move and gave Rich a stop and go penalty. That ended the first race of the evening in 13th place.
Now for the main event. Only 20 points out of the lead, Carnes started on the outside pole and proceed to take the lead on the first lap. After a couple of cautions and a mid race red flag, The race was under way again for the final 29 laps of this 50 lap main event. Carnes continued his lead til contact was made when the runner up tried to make a move on his inside, spinning himself out after contacting Carnes' left rear sending himself to the infield. The Official decision was to give Carnes, "while leading" yet another stop and go penalty. This ended his attempt for any possibility at the championship run! He finished 13th in the 50 lapper, and 5th place overal on the season.

The Carnes ride gets to victory lane in his heat race on the 27th. The evening ends abruptly from a fire in the concession stand, which concludes the evening races. The final showdown will come this Saturday night, September 3rd. when there will be double features for the Charger division as Rich is only 8 points out of the lead. 30 laps in the first feature, followed by the season finale in a 50 lap event!

August 20th proves, yet another tough night. Starting in 11th position, on a lap 8 squirmish, Carnes gets tangled up on a three-wide move to the middle and ends up in the dirt. Now starting all the way back in 17th, he charged his way up to a 4th place finish over the remaining caution free laps.
August 13th 2011
This night proved tough as well as Carnes starts in 12th position. Early contact had him losing ground on the initial start putting him back in the field to last place. He then started his way up to the front but the laps were winding down as he finished 6th, but post tech gained him a position and his final place this night ends in 5th.

It was a tough night for Carnes. He had some tough work ahead of him starting in 16th position. There was some good 3 wide racing going on, but was boxed in for most of the race and finished 7th.

Rich Carnes Takes 1st Place On July 30th
Number 17 started the race in 3rd place. On a lap 6 restart he took the lead and never looked back. With two laps to go his lead was challenged. However on this day nothing was stopping Carnes.

Rich Carnes Places 14th In July 23rd Race
Early troubles forces number 17 to the infield on lap one, immediately upon the start of the race. It was apperent to everyone he failed to attach the hood pins, and the hood went flying up into the windshield, causing him to take his car into the infield and reattach the hood. Down six laps he finished 14th.
Rich Carnes Takes 5th Place In July 9th Race
Number 17 started off the night in 9th place. He moved into 2nd place midway in the race. Car trouble forced him to finish the race in 5th place.

Rich Carnes Comes In 8th Place On June 18th
It was a hard one last saturday night. Rich Carnes just wasn't feeling the car was working with him. His hopes are high for this week. He is in 2nd place in points for the season thus far. And his expectations are on finishing in first place. We're all behind him in his effort to win the season.

#17 Rich Carnes Is number One Going Into June 11th Race
After coming in 3rd place on opening day Rich Carnes is number one in points for the season. Additional points where awarded to racers who's cars where at the Mckinly Mall Auto Show. With June 11th right around the corner, Carnes is ready to hold on to his lead.
